Brave Dog Dies While Saving UP Residents From a Burning Building, is Hailed a Hero.

In an unfortunate incident, a major fire broke out in a building in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, which further set off a series of gas cylinders. This led to four adjacent buildings being completely destroyed in the fire.
The dog, sensing the fire, started barking incessantly, which alerted everyone else in the building. Because of this, at least 30 people were able to make it out of the building alive. The dog, however, succumbed to the fire. He was in the vicinity when one of the cylinders blew off and could not be saved.
The fire started in a furniture and electronics showroom in the building, due to firewood which had been stored illegally in the building. This helped the fire spread, destroying goods worth crores.
It could have been a major disaster, but the number of casualties was reduced to a minimum, thanks to this dog who is now being hailed as a hero.

Brave dog dies a hero after fighting off tiger and giving his owner time to escape.

A COURAGEOUS farm dog is being hailed as a national hero after saving his owner from a man-eating tiger.

The brave animal sacrificed his own life in a fierce fight with the powerful big cat to give his owner time to escape.
Farmer Gurdev Singh today praised the four-year-old dog called Jacky for his ultimate sacrifice after villagers held a formal funeral for the animal at the weekend.
Mr Singh had been sleeping in the open outside his home in the village of Barbatpur - about 120 miles east of New Delhi - when his dog must have picked up the scent of a marauding tiger.
Jacky managed to wake Mr Singh from a deep sleep but, as the farmer was gathering his wits, the tiger attacked.
Before the forest predator could pounce on the farmer, fearless Jacky took the initiative, taking on the tiger and allowing Gurdev to get a stick and raise the alarm.
As Mr Singh's family rushed to his aid, the tiger escaped, dragging the dog away in its powerful jaws.
Jacky's body was found some distance away later and was given a formal burial by the village.
Mr Singh today paid tribute to his best friend and said Jacky's death had devastated his children, Supreet and Gulshanpreet.
He said: "Jacky's mother was a street dog and my children took it in four years ago as a pup.

Feeding your dog

Most veterinarians recommend feeding your dog twice a day — once in the morning and once in the evening. Puppies under five months of age should be fed three to four times a day in small quantities.    It’s important to remember all dogs are individuals, and what diet might be fine for your friend’s dog may be completely inappropriate for your dog. When it comes to a daily diet for your dog, it’s important to consult with your vet. The amount of food your dog needs will largely depend on the size, breed and age of your dog, as well as how regularly it exercises. The key is to ensure you don’t overfeed or underfeed your dog. If ever you’re unsure, ask your vet to assess your dog’s diet and nutrition, and the condition of its body and overall health. Always ensure your dog is well hydrated. This means making sure their water bowl is filled up at all times and is changed daily, so they can help themselves to water whenever they need or want. Domesticated dogs a...

Grooming your pet dog

Grooming your dog means keeping the exterior part of your dog's body neat and clean. Every dog will groom itself. These are superficial grooming like licking it's paws or shaking it's body to drain out water from it's coat. Scratching its own back and so on. These are essential but not sufficient. The act of grooming your dog should ideally be started when it is a puppy of around 7 -8 weeks of age. Before this age the mother takes care of it's pups grooming with occasional help from its owner.   Following are the benefits of grooming your pet dog. Good hygiene and smell. Check and treat fleas and skin infections. Early detection of any skin and health issues. Ear infection can be avoided or controlled. Trimming nails reduces the risk of developing bad posture or bone deformations Healthy and shiny coats which shed a lot less when groomed regularly. Get rid of matted coats. Makes your dog and your house look better. Builds trust and bonding. ...

What is the right age for dog to consider as a pet?

Owning a dog as a pet is itself a good decission but does age of a dog really matter ? Most vetenerians and breeders agree that 7-8 weeks is the right time for a puppy to be given a new home. First few weeks; a dog's mother will feed her pup with her milk and the pup starts to gain weight, grows really fast. Eyes open at about 10 days from birth, teeth start to show up and the pup starts to learn to bond with its siblings and other dogs in the pack. This initial 7 -8 weeks of interaction among pups and it's surrounding is very important for the future development of the dog and it's welbeing. A pup missing this initial bonding phase can seriously affect it's personality, behaviour and mood. Adjusting to new surrounding becomes easier if human interaction is limited in the initial few weeks.  Post 8 weeks a pup's mom will stop milk feeding and it's time for the pup to start feeding on solid food. So a pup of 8 weeks ...
