What is the right age for dog to consider as a pet?

Owning a dog as a pet is itself a good decission but does age of a dog really matter ? Most vetenerians and breeders agree that 7-8 weeks is the right time for a puppy to be given a new home. First few weeks; a dog's mother will feed her pup with her milk and the pup starts to gain weight, grows really fast. Eyes open at about 10 days from birth, teeth start to show up and the pup starts to learn to bond with its siblings and other dogs in the pack. This initial 7 -8 weeks of interaction among pups and it's surrounding is very important for the future development of the dog and it's welbeing. A pup missing this initial bonding phase can seriously affect it's personality, behaviour and mood. Adjusting to new surrounding becomes easier if human interaction is limited in the initial few weeks.  Post 8 weeks a pup's mom will stop milk feeding and it's time for the pup to start feeding on solid food. So a pup of 8 weeks
